INTRODUCTION
AT&T, the largest U.S. corporation faced almost no competitors until 1984. This giant of the telecommunications industry was organized into business units and subdivisions. The 1980s and 1990s were the time of dramatic change, there appeared the first serious competitors and the AT&T needed strict reorganization. Until that time people trusted that this organization gave them “a job for life”, but after years the philosophy had to change to “invest in us, we will invest in you. Together we go to the marketplace and out of that comes a future for both of us”. This required a lot of variable workers and business units started to use outside contractors, agencies and consulting firms. To cut these enormous costs, AT&T established its own Resource Link....
