1. Introduction
1.1 Project-team members background

Our group consists of three students. The countries of our origin are very similar, the two female members Tatiana Vasicova and Katarina Palusakova come from Slovakia and the male member Zdenek Mrkvicka comes from Czech Republic. Even though since 1993 these two countries are separated and independent republics, they used to be together known as Czechoslovakia. Actually content of our group is quite funny because Katarina is Slovakian, Zdeněk is Czech and Tatiana Czechoslovakian, because of Tatiana´s paternal family which comes from Czech Republic. We all are studying at the College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Cyprus and the object of our project that we have randomly chosen is Syrian culture. We do not know anybody from this country personally, but we know that there are few Syrian students at our college. We will try to observe them in the college environment and later on make interviews with some of them depending on our choice and their willingness to participate.
